posted by: therealspartacus007 (reply) post date: 03.05.04 (11:25 am) Exactly right- the difference between the Government and a legitimate business is that no one is forced to trade with a legitimate business at the point of a gun. Governments have a proper role when they protect and defend our rights, not when they try and determine the values (any kinds of values) of the people. Outsourcing or privatizing government has been a popular idea in Anarchistic circles, but no one has come up with a working model that doesn't result in martial law. The best way is to have a Bill of Rights that strictly limits the government. Since that is only a piece of paper, we must be ever vigilant against the actions of the government, a job Bush and Kerry hope we don't do. |
