Win-Win for Bush
04.24.06 (11:08 am)   [edit]
With gas prices rocketing towards Pluto and the oil companies making obscene profits, it came to me that this is an absolute win-win situation for Bush. His oil buddies shoot the prices way high and blame (in no particular order): Clinton, consumer demand, lack of refineries, and lack of oil.

But, really, if any of those were true their profits would still be the same even as prices rose. But, no, they've made unbelievable profits.

The Government won't investigate with any real punch because all the Oil Executives are F.O.B.s (Friends of Bush).

So Bush wins this way.

But if consumers raise a real ruccus, take to the streets and protest, Bush could then say that our presence in Iraq is justified to keep a source of oil available to us. That is, we invaded Iraq to secure oil and isn't Bush so great for seeing this crisis so far in advance?

Bush wins that way too.

Mind you that the only ones truly winning are Bush and his cronies but I'm talking serious spin here. No Administration does spin like Bushy boys. So expect this one coming soon, unless we invade Iran as well.

so no investigation on gas*priced hikin' like there's no sping break, eh?
what if, it's just because China, India, Mexico, and the USA are really into big fast-fat cars that eats up massive gas/oil??
perhaps, we should all just limit diving behind the wheels, then allow electric cable cars to take us to any where you've deired...then ride a bicycle to keep everybody in shape...slower they/us get to anywhere, would make everybody appreciate that slowing down a bit and gettin' in shape is a lot healtier than whinning about: cost of gas...maybe we don't even have to be bothered about politics/ecvnomics/global warming... for there's no room for more unresolved~~> BLAH--BLAHS!!!

I agree that biking to work would be healthier but in LA it's unreasonable for too many such as myself. Biking across the valley would take too long and I already regret that my commute (using Metro) takes close to an hour each way. It depends on ones priorities. If you're a work-a-holic then you won't mind such a commute but for those of us who value family time it's not fun.

And the cost of gas? Sure, we're not paying as much as Europeans but we pay far more than other countries. But it's the obscene profits that are irksome. They can't say there's gas crisis then giggle as they make billions of profit. It's price fixing and collusion at the very least. Think Enron...
