We continue to fight a well-organized propaganda campaign that never ends. Part of the propaganda is that the media is out to get the right, and the right wing talk radio and Fox network are not even acknowledged. Perhaps it's like a drug addict trying to recover, the opposition just needs to hit bottom before they will realized the importance of organization. posted by: PatriotActs (reply) post date: 09.27.04 (10:06 am) Don't be depressed. We must keep fighting onwards. Kerry will inherit a mess: But we cannot give up hope and give up trying to reclaim our Republic. posted by: therealspartacus007 (reply) post date: 09.27.04 (10:45 am) "No nation-building." -George W. Bush, 2000 Presidential debate promise posted by: littlemrmahatma (reply) post date: 09.27.04 (11:23 am) Appreciate the words of support and hope but it's tough to hear Bush (and cronies) natter on about how great things are and how much they care when it's so obvious - so damned painfully obvious - that they don't care about anything except their self-absorbed little clique. Powell disagrees with them. Their generals disagree with them. The U.N. disagrees with them. At least half of the U.S. disagrees with them. And they don't care. If Bush wins the election either invest in pharmaceuticals or hope that marijuana becomes legal. We're going to need something to kill the pain. posted by: cogito (reply) post date: 09.27.04 (12:11 pm) There is a vicious cycle of passive acceptance happening in America. I'm not sure what will wake up Americans to educate themselves on terrorism, it's tactics and the causes thereof. Obviously many Americans reaction to 9/11 was just simply reactionary. What will it take? I agree that no matter who wins, politics in America will remain as ugly as it is now. I hope that at the very least most Americans will refuse to be bullied by the interests of corporate America and their influence on the mainstream media. posted by: hanoijane (reply) post date: 09.27.04 (4:53 pm) I like your formula. Either way Kerry loses. I can live with that. One thing that I think you and the rest of the bunch are missing is that we are acting precisely as an Empire behaves. We have 700 plus military bases overseas with more coming. Garrisoned throughout the world, America sees any threat to its hegemony as cause for action. Iraq gives us the launch point for any further excursions in the region. An empire powered by oil is unwilling to submit its future economic existence on the likes of what is running things over there now. It was a cold calculation that Bush himself probably didn't make. It is an organic need of the American Empire to expand or it will contract. He bought the Neo-con argument that was of course premised on something other than the true objective and sold it to America. I believe Bush believed. Still, knowing all of this I will vote for Bush again simply because Kerry will do little different when it comes to Iraq. It is the other things he will do that push me back to the Republicans. I have been disappointed in Bush as not truly a conservative. But most conservatives, libertarians, and Republicans will not ever make the Perot mistake again. Of course, we all hope some of you vote for Nader. Anyone but Kerry. posted by: arhiderrr (reply) post date: 02.28.09 (7:20 am) Nice article posted by: arhiderrr (reply) post date: 02.28.09 (4:14 pm) Nice article posted by: arhiderrr (reply) post date: 03.01.09 (12:02 am) Nice article posted by: arhiderrr (reply) post date: 03.01.09 (7:54 am) Nice article |
